Includes recommendations on places to visit, activities, accommodation, restaurants, tours, and other practical tips to help you prepare for your trip.

The Basque Country (Euskadi) is located in the north of Spain, near the border with France. It is an autonomous region with a coastline along the Bay of Biscay.
Capital: Vitoria
Currency: EUR (Euro)
ATMs: Widely available throughout Euskadi, making it easy to access cash almost anywhere.
Official Languages: The Basque Country’s official languages are Spanish and Basque (Euskara).

The best time to visit the Basque Country (Euskadi) is between May and September, when the weather is milder and more pleasant. In late May and early June, the weather is already enjoyable and the days are longer, allowing for more comfortable exploration of the region.
I visited the Basque Country during this time and loved the experience.
During this period, you can enjoy the coastal landscapes, mountains, and charming villages in ideal weather.
The summer months, July and August, are also very popular but can be busier due to tourism. If you prefer to avoid crowds, May, June, and September are the ideal months.
Additionally, visiting the region in spring lets you experience the full bloom of nature and enjoy local festivals, such as the Semana Grande in Bilbao in August.
The best way to visit Euskadi is by car.
This option provides greater flexibility to explore the villages and mountains of the Basque Country at your own pace.
If you need to rent a car, I recommend Discovercars.
