In addition, I’ll tell you about the hotel I stayed in, which I recommend without hesitation: the Hotel Ippoliti, a real find in the old part of the city.
Nafplio, also known as Nafplion, was the first capital of modern Greece and is one of the country’s most interesting cities.
It’s about a two-hour drive from Athens and combines history, the sea and good food. It’s therefore an excellent starting point for exploring places like Epidaurus, Mycenae and the vineyards of the Peloponnese region.
The good news? There’s accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets, including boutique hotels in the historic center and budget options further afield. In other words, it all depends on your travel style and budget.
✔️ Tested and Approved: I stayed at the Hotel Ippoliti and loved it! A 4-star boutique hotel in a carefully restored neoclassical building, right in the heart of Nafplio. It has comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms, a small pool, perfect for cooling off on hot days, and a varied breakfast. What’s more, the location is excellent for exploring everything on foot. I recommend it!
