Malpensa Airport is about 25 km from Milan, and the most convenient form of public transport is the bus.
In fact, there are buses running almost all day between Milan and the airport.
For example, Terravision Group runs buses from the airport to Milan and back every 30 minutes, except in the early hours of the morning.
In this case, expect a journey of around 50 minutes and tickets cost €10.
However, if you prefer to rent a car, you can also do so directly at Malpensa Airport, and I’ll explain how to do this later in the article.

How do I get from Milan-Malpensa Airport to Bergamo Airport?
To get from Malpensa Airport to Bergamo Airport, you can take a bus to Milan and another from Milan to Bergamo Airport.
Between Terravison, flibco, Flixbus or Trenord, there are always buses leaving.
However, if you prefer not to have to change buses, I recommend choosing Orioshuttle, which as far as I know is the only company with this option.

Car rental at Milan Malpensa Airport
If you’re thinking of renting a car at Malpensa airport, I have good news for you: car rental in this area is cheap compared to other parts of Italy.
To search for rental cars in Europe I use and recommend Discovercars, which in my opinion has the best conditions.
Even so, to make sure everything goes smoothly, here are my recommendations for renting a car in Milan:
- The cheapest car rental company is usually RENTALPLUS;
- Italy Car Rent, OK Mobility and Drivalia have pick-up and drop-off desks in the terminal, so they’re a good choice if you’re in a hurry;
- If your group is +6 people, i.e. a large group, take a look at Galdieri Rent’s prices.

Are there hotels near Milan Malpensa Airport?
Yes, there are hotels near Milan Malpensa Airport, some of which are so close you can walk from the airport to the hotel.
Sleeping in a hotel near Malpensa Airport is a good idea, especially if you have an early flight, such as easyjet.
This is because although the airport doesn’t close at night, going through security closes the gates.
In addition, there are no early morning buses between Milan Central and Malpensa. So my suggestion is to check out the Holiday Inn Express Milan-Malpensa Airport (3 stars), the Moxy Milan Malpensa Airport (3 stars) or the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre (4 stars).
