I believe that the capital of Puglia, often overshadowed by destinations such as Naples or Rome, deserves your attention.

It lies by the Adriatic Sea and combines a beautiful historic center with a lively modern part. It’s also the perfect starting point for exploring towns such as Alberobello, Ostuni or Lecce.

The good news is that there are great hotels in Bari for a comfortable and affordable stay.

The best option depends on your travel style and available budget. When it comes to location, the historic center, known as Bari Vecchia, and the modern area, next to the train station, are good choices. These areas are practical and close to the main attractions, restaurants and transportation.

Not all of them are cheap, but the aim of this text is to present good options for where to stay in Bari, including luxury hotels, budget accommodation and good value alternatives.

✔️Tested and approved: JR Hotels Oriente Bari, a top quality 4-star. It’s in the city center, in a historic building, and has a terrace with an incredible view of the center of Bari. The location is excellent if you want to explore the city on foot. That’s where I stayed and I loved it!

Bari’s waterfront is one of the most beautiful in Italy. The Lungomare area is great for evening strolls, and although it’s not very touristy, it has a few hotels with sea views and a quiet atmosphere.
