Aeroporto de Copenhaga - Copenhagen Airport (CPH).
Article Index

Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is located in Kastrup, approximately 8 km from the center of Copenhagen. It is the main airport in Denmark and the busiest in Scandinavia.

In addition to serving the city of Copenhagen, this airport also caters to Malmö, Sweden, which is just over 30 km away.

The excellent public transportation connections to other cities in Denmark and Sweden, coupled with the presence of low-cost airlines operating at this airport, make it a preferred choice for many passengers traveling to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen Airport has 3 terminals that operate 24 hours a day. Terminal 1 is dedicated to domestic flights within Denmark, while Terminals 2 and 3 handle international flights.

In this article, I have compiled a set of information that I believe is essential for those traveling to this region for the first time.

How to get from Copenhagen Airport to the city center?

Estação Central de Copenhaga.
Copenhagen Central Train Station (København H).

The most efficient way to travel from the airport to the center of Copenhagen is by train, known as S-Tog.

The train station is located inside the airport, and to purchase tickets to the center, you just need to go to one of the (many) red-colored ticket machines, which are easy to identify.

What may not be as easy is finding the name of the central station in the center of Copenhagen, and to help you with that, I’m here to provide all the necessary information. In case my explanations are not clear, there is staff available to assist with the ticket machines.

So, to purchase a ticket to the center of Copenhagen, look for København H, which is Copenhagen Central Station. Payment can be made with a card, and the ticket will indicate the platform number. However, with two platforms available in opposite directions, make sure you board the correct train.

Although there are ticket validation machines on the platforms, these are intended only for regular transport cardholders, and it is not necessary to validate tickets purchased from the machines.

The journey from Copenhagen Airport to Central Station takes about 15 minutes, which corresponds to three stops.
